Grade 5 at KCIS is an essential stage of education where students transition from foundational learning to developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills. KCIS Technology Program
Your child will have access to technology offered by KCIS School’s technology program. Your child will use technology to access information, collaborate with fellow peers, and demonstrate their learning through a variety of multimedia toolsand resources. Our students will learn how to use technology responsibly, allowing them to reap the benefits of technology. Through KCIS technology program, we will mould them into leaders that are confident, sophisticated, and ethical in a world where technology is ubiquitous.
Key Learning Areas in Our Grade-5 Program
Arabic
Strengthening reading and writing skills in Arabic. Focus on learning and understanding common Arabic phrases and expressions. Exploring the rich history and traditions associated with the Arabic language
Art
Students expand their ability to express ideas through various artistic methods such as drawing, painting, and crafting. Learning the logistics of organizing materials, managing workstations, and using the right tools for projects. Developing perseverance, confidence, and good work habits through artistic endeavors. Encouraging students to use imaginative methods to create meaningful artworks.
Dua's
Students will learn Duas relevant to everyday tasks like eating, traveling, and studying. Each student will receive a Dua book to support learning and memorization. Incorporating recitation and practice in class to instill confidence and understanding.
English Language Arts (ELA)
Building on reading, writing, and comprehension skills acquired in earlier grades. Activities include creative story writing, book reports, and journal entries. Providing a wide range of books from various genres to encourage a love of reading. Weekly practice to polish vocabulary, sentence construction, and writing techniques. Encouraging public speaking and storytelling to build confidence and communication abilities.
Islamic Studies
Covering purification methods, the five pillars of Islam, and the duties of a Muslim. Learning from the stories of prophets to enhance moral and ethical understanding. Emphasizing kindness, respect, and community contribution. Providing students with engaging workbooks and lessons tailored to Islamic values.
Mathematics
Developing a solid foundation in mathematical reasoning and problem-solving. Extensive work with fractions, decimals, mixed numbers, estimation, and basic algebra. Teaching students how math connects to everyday life, such as managing data and analyzing patterns. Introducing skills essential for algebra and geometry.
Physical Education (PE)
Fostering fitness and motor skills through daily physical exercises. Encouraging cooperation and healthy competition through team games. Exercises focusing on skipping, running, balancing, and coordination. Teaching students the importance of regular activity and safe use of sports equipment.
Qur’an
Weekly sessions to help students recite and memorize selected surahs with tajweed. Teaching the meanings and teachings of the surahs to foster a deeper spiritual connection. Classes led by experienced Quranic teachers ensure accurate learning.
Science
Extending beyond the international curriculum with engaging and interactive lessons. Launching in Fall 2025, this will enable students to experiment with substances and deepen their understanding of scientific concepts. Plant life cycles, magnetism, solar system studies, and more. Emphasizing observation, prediction, data recording, and analysis.
Social Studies
Exploring the diversity, traditions, and lifestyles within Bangladesh and globally. Learning about the geographic and economic structures of various communities. Encouraging an appreciation of different cultures and practices. Group work and role-playing to make lessons more engaging.
Islamic Values
Instilling Islamic values through lessons, activities, and practices. Teaching students the importance of honesty, patience, and empathy. Encouraging students to apply Islamic values in their daily interactions. Providing supplementary materials to deepen understanding and practice of Islamic principles.
